# Output File Source File Action
How to convert HEIC to PSD:

1. Click the "Choose Files" button to select multiple files from your local device, or click the "URL" button to choose an online file. Image file size can be up to 200MB. You can use the file analyzer to get the source image's detailed information such as image size, resolution, quality, and transparent color.

2. Set the target image format, image quality, and image size. You can use the original image size or select the "Change width and height" option and enter a custom image size in the format [width]x[height] (e.g., 1920x1080). The image quality setting applies only to specific formats such as JPG, WEBP, or AVIF. The value ranges from 1 (lowest image quality and highest compression) to 100 (best quality but least effective compression). If left blank, the converter will use the estimated quality of your source image if it can be determined, otherwise 92. The target image format can be JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, HEIC, BMP, PS, PSD, WEBP, TGA, DDS, AVIF, J2K, PNM, SVG, etc.

3. Click the "Convert Now!" button to start batch conversion. It will automatically retry conversion on another server if one fails; please be patient while converting. The output files will be listed in the "Conversion Results" section. Click the icon to show the file QR code or save the file to cloud storage services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.

HEIC vs PSD:
Name HEIC PSD
Full name High Efficiency Image File Format Adobe Photoshop Bitmap File
File extension .heic .psd
MIME image/heic image/x-photoshop
Developed by Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG) Adobe Systems
Type of format Image Container Format Raster Image format
Introduction As HEIC is a container format, it can contain still images and image sequences (where a file contains more than one single image) that are coded in different formats. Currently, these include HEVC and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC (and JPEG for thumbnail/secondary images), though other coding formats may be added in the future. The main filename extension is .heic (for HEVC codec). Photoshop files have default file extension as .PSD, which stands for "Photoshop Document." A PSD file stores an image with support for most imaging options available in Photoshop. These include layers with masks, transparency, text, alpha channels and spot colors, clipping paths, and duotone settings.
Technical details In Apple's implementation, for single images they have chosen the latter .heic filename extension (.heics for image sequence files) as the only one they will produce for photos, which indicates clearly that it went through HEVC encoding. This is in contrast to many other file formats (e.g., .JPG or .GIF) that restrict content to provide streamlined, predictable functionality. A PSD file has a maximum height and width of 30,000 pixels, and a length limit of 2 Gigabytes.
